As I understand it, we are in the church age, that is - the section of Revelations where Jesus is talking to the churches. (Revelations chapters 2&3)
The church age is the time God has set for spreading the good news of redemption through His son.
If you read what Jesus says to the seven churches, The churches are doing some good, but also they are allowing some not so good things to prevail. Jesus tells them what he has against them and warns them of the consequences of ignoring him. However, he also notices that there are some in those churches who stand firm in the goodness they first learned, or who overcome the evil that has pervaded their churches, and for these he keeps a reward.
Then Jesus shows John what will take place after the church age, this is the time of God's wrath beginning in ch 4, the time when he will begin to put right all that has been wrong on the earth since the time of Adam and Eve.
The last church stands accused of being luke warm in faith and of being more concerned with how rich they are and how they do not need anything. which is what has been happening in our churches over the last years, probably since the end of the second world war. People have become less and less interested in God and more and more interested in wealth, including many of churches.
If I understand right, we are coming to the end of the age of churches which means that we are coming close to the time of God's wrath. So the warning from Isaiah 55:6, telling us to 'seek the Lord while he may be found' is very important. Isaiah is talking about God's invitation to the thirsty - those who search for goodness.
How long do we have before this time is over? Only The Father knows. (Matthew 24:36)
So, my message is; 'seek the Lord while he may be found'. we may be in the 'year of the Lord's favour and salvation,' (Isaiah ch 61), so don't miss it! Or you may be regretting it for an eternity.
As usual these are just my thoughts, how I understand God. Look for yourselves. Be open to God and see what He says to you.
Praise the Lord for all He has done!
