I read Psalm 25 online yesterday and this jumped out at me. Verse 15 ‘He will release my foot from the snare’ (My bible says ‘he will pluck my foot from the net’)
So what is the snare? I think is is whatever is holding us back from a good relationship with God.
such as;
There are probably many more, but you get the gist.
Notice though he says, 'He' will release my/your foot. He is very aware that we are likely to fall into some of these traps. But when we recognise them, we must turn to him to release us.
It is a sad fact, but I must admit that, at various times during my life, I have been guilty of most, if not all of the above - probably more than I care to think about. I am a sinner and I cannot deny it. But Jesus released me from all those trappings when he went to the cross, and from the guilt and punishment from them. Not than I am perfect...far from it, but I keep my eyes on him and trust him to get me through and change me forever.
I have a lot to thank him for.
It is all on Jesus our Saviour. He loves us with a love stronger than anything or anyone else. Hang on to him.
This is how I understand my God.
Read for yourself, see what you think.
