BUILD A STRONG WALL

After eating my breakfast, I was watching a talk on prayer, I took out my bible and went through the list of people I have at the front.

As I’m off work and having a relaxation day, afterwards I decided to lie down and doze for a few minutes, but I was feeling that my prayers were too small.

As I dozed, I had this picture pop into my mind of a large wall full of boulders. In my hand I carried a small stone. I looked at the wall in awe of the boulders and, for a moment, I considered throwing my insignificant stone away when I heard God say, “No! don’t throw it, use it! Put it in the gap.” So, I stepped forwards and placed my small stone into a gap at the bottom of the wall. My stone stopped the boulder above it from wobbling slightly and this made the whole wall stronger.

I realised that my small stones mattered as much as the large ones in front of me.

They matter to God. *(El Roi – the God who sees me).

Some people’s prayers are like boulders and some like small stones. But what matters is that when they are all put together, we have a strong defence against our enemy – satan, who is always looking for ways to weaken our faith and destroy our relationship with God. (Proverbs 28:24, John 10:10)

Maybe we all pray boulders and stones during our life.

The one certain thing is, Jesus hears them! And He cares! *(Jehovah Ezer – The Lord our helper).

As an individual and as a church, we build up a wall of protection with our prayers, and we go in and out through the gate which God has provided – that is, Jesus! (John 10:7-9)

God loves you! even when you feel small. He can use you for great things even when you feel insignificant compared to those around you. *(Jehovah Makkeh – The Lord who molds me).

*One of the many names God used to describe himself in the bible, but over the years they have been changed to a generic ‘The LORD’ in most translations. Jehovah is the English translation of Yahweh....God's name. (see Moses Exodus 3:13-15), I still say 'Lord' when I talk to him, but eventually I believe we will all call him by his proper name.
