Imagine having the power to create the heavens and the earth. Or the power to speak and it is done! (Genesis 1).
If you or I had this much power what would we do?
Our Heavenly Father has all that power, yet he asks us to come to him. (Psalm 55).
When he could demand that we listen to him, he requests it. When he could force us to follow him, he pleads with us, and not for his own benefit but for ours. When he could wipe all the evil out of the world in one fell swoop, he won't do it in case a good person is caught up in the wake. (Matthew 13:29). Instead, he calls out to us to turn to him and be saved.
His thoughts are not like ours, and his ways are not like ours, (Psalm 55:8-9). And it is good for us that he is this way, because he gives us time to grow, time to understand, and time to change our minds about him.
Why? Because he loves his creations - all of them! He would not see any of them be lost to him. Yet he gives us choice. He says here I am, choose me and live. He will not make us choose him, even though he has the power to, and we do things that he hates, he still asks us.
Would we be so humble if we had so much power? I think not! I think our way is one of pride and self importance, and its this that leads us to be lost, not God's lack of caring.
The time is drawing near though, when He has to 'harvest' the world before all the good grain is choked out by the weeds. But how wonderful to have such a loving Father, who saves us from being thrown away with the 'chaff', (the unusable part of the harvest), through His only son, Jesus Christ, who came to redeem those who choose Him.
Reply to His invitation.
Accept the redemption bought for us by Jesus,
and be saved!
That is all He wants. He wants us to have what He inteded us to have in the beginning. A wonderful, fruitful life.
Note:
As usual, I urge you to look for yourself. Know God for yourself. Learn how much you are loved.
