DON'T COMPROMISE IT!

I heard a talk on compromising last week. The speaker said;

People who tempt you into compromising your faith will hate you if you do

They will press you and cajole your, then sneer at you if you give in, its a no-win situation, so the best thing you can do is stand up for your faith!

This struck a chord with me as last week as we had a Halloween party at work. I've never had to do a Halloween party before because it comes in the half term break, but this year they decided to have a party on the 26th. I would have asked for the time off, but there were a number of people already off and it would have created difficulty for the rest of the staff – but I was kind of hoping that God would make me ill so I wouldn’t have to go. This didn’t happen, so on Thursday night I decided to look up Halloween or ‘All saints eve’ as it used to be called. As I read about it I realised that I could go without compromising my faith if I went as a ‘Saint.’

I chose a little known saint named Arilda, who was a young lady killed by a youth because she would not sleep with him and disrespect God. She kept her faith to the end.

I put a sticker on so that people would know who I was supposed to be and prepared myself to explain if asked......but no-one did.

I got through the day comfortably without compromising my faith.

I am no-where near perfect, I stumble and trip through life like everyone else, I know this. But that doesn’t stop me striving for the perfection Jesus demonstrated to us. And in striving, I grow and mature in faith. I believe my Heavenly Father sees what I do for Him, and blesses me for it - even if no-one else sees or understands, He does.

Don't compromise your faith - pray and be ready to explain it, and Jesus will be with you.
