HIS SPIRIT IS WITH US

As I was flicking through my bible wondering what to read, I was just thinking of maybe Romans when someone on TV mentioned Romans 8. And as he was talking about living in the spirit of God, my eyes fell to this verse

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. 28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

And it jumped out at me. The spirit of God lives in us when we accept Jesus as our Saviour. And because He lives in us, He knows every thought and feeling we have, even before we know ourselves, and He intercedes for us to the Father, especially when we are weak and have no idea what to say to God.

So, when we are in total turmoil, and our lives are spiralling out of our control, we, in our weakness try to get a grip on it and make it change. But what the Holy Spirit is doing on our behalf is talking to the Father through wordless groans. And not only that, but He is communicating for us in accordance with the will of God.

This means that when we have no idea what to do, or what to say, God’s Spirit is already working on our behalf. So maybe, what we need to do is rest in God.

By that I mean, say, “Lord I can’t cope with this, I don’t know what to do or say, I leave it in the hands of my God who is able” - Or something like that – and relax, in whatever situation comes up during the day, because we know that our God Is able - able and willing to take on our battles for us!

What we need to do next is wait for His solution. You can be sure it will be much better than anything you can come up with! And our Heavenly Father, who loves us, will make that horrid situation work together with all the other things in your life, to your good and His glory.

Only He can do that!

This is how I understand my God
