HOLD OUT TO THE END
In light of what’s happening in the world right now, I feel that this is the message needed.
To those who conquer and keep Jesus works to the end, these are the promises of God.
1/ ‘I will grant to eat from the tree of life which is in the paradise of God.’ (Rev. 2:7)
2/ ‘Shall not be hurt by the second death.’ (Rev. 2:11)
3/ ‘I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give a white stone, with a new name written on the stone, which no-one knows except him who receives it.’ (Rev. 2:17)
4/ ‘I will give him power over the nations, and he will rule with a rod of Iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received power from my Father; and I will give him the morning star.’ (Rev. 2:26-28)
5/ ‘shall be clad in white garments, and I will not blot out his name in the book of life; I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.’ (Rev. 3:5)
6/ ‘Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you through the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the Earth. I am coming soon;… I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which comes down out from my God out from heaven, and my own new name. (Rev. 3: 12)
7/ ‘I will grant him to sit with me on my throne as I myself conquered and sat with my Father on his throne.’ (Rev. 3:21)
What do we need to do while we wait?
1/ ‘Repent of your sins and do the works you did at first’*. (Rev. 2:5)
2/ ‘Do not fear what you are about to suffer….Be faithful to the end.’ (Rev. 2:10)
3/ ‘Repent’ (Rev. 2:16)
4/ Do not hold to wrong teachings that some call the deep things of Satan. (Rev. 2:24)
5/ Remember what you received and heard*. Keep that and repent. (Rev. 3:3)
6/ hold fast to what you have, so that no-one may seize your crown.’ (Rev.3:10-11)
7/ ‘I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire* to make you rich, and white garments to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen, and slave to anoint your eyes that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and chasten. Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. (Rev. 3:18-20)
As I understand it, the main themes here are Repent, Repent, Repent!! Remember your original teaching – (That taught by the Apostles that has been passed down), and Hold out to the end – no-matter what happens!
He doesn’t promise it will be easy – if you read what the churches in revelation go through, you realise it’s quite the opposite! But Jesus does promise to take us to be with Him at the appropriate time. This is the hope we have in Jesus, that while we were still sinners, he died and rose again for us, and he will come back and bring us to himself!
HOLD ON TO THAT HOPE WITH BOTH HANDS!!!
This is how I understand my God.
Read for yourself, with prayers and requests for understanding and wisdom, and see what you think.
