I was listening to a song by Matt Munroe last night called ‘a portrait of my love’, and I thought, “what would a portrait of God’s love be?”
I pondered it for a while, and thought then of the song, ‘So will I’ and I thought, “yes, he has already done it.” It is in the world he made for us, the sky he made for us, the sun, moon and stars and infinite galaxies, and the life he gave us.
When you see the places he created, (the ones we haven’t spoiled yet), even the ones we can’t live in are beautiful and intricate, and are a wonder to behold.
To me, that’s a portrait of his love. That is his nature - beauty, creativity, love.
Our prize when this race is run, and Jesus has sorted everything out, is to be with him. To live with the one who thought up and bought into being all that beauty.
Something to look forward to, I think!
