YOU ARE NOT ALONE

I am currently reading a book called 'Breaking the Jewish Code' by Perry Stone. Its quite interesting. It explains why the Jews do things the way they do.

One section talks about the importance of the cycles of life within which it mentions single mothers.

Biblically, the husband is responsible for teaching his family about God and the right way to live, and also for passing blessings on to his children, but where does that leave single mothers?

Well, the writer explains that where the husband is absent, God makes provision for the mother to bless her children and promises to help her to bring them up.He quotes Isaiah 54.5, Deuteronomy 10:18-19, and Psalm 10:14 and 68:5.

God does indeed promise to be a father to the fatherless, so as mother's, for those whose husbands are absent or whose husbands are non believers like mine, it is our role to point our children to our heavenly Father who will help those children, particularly the boys who miss a fathers presence more so than girls, to become all they can and should be in life. (although girls too need the guiding hand of a good Father).

This is very comforting. I have always wondered if I have been doing the right thing by teaching my children in my husbands place. I thought Jesus would bless me for trying, but it's good to know that he has made provision for us all and will continue to bless our children as they grow up and move out into the world.

We certainly have a *good, good Father in our God.

This is how I understand my God.

Read for yourself, see what you think!

*The song Good, good Father came to mind here.
