We need to pray continually. We need to lay before the Lord all that is going on in our lives. Sometimes it will be praise for the good things he has given us, sometimes it will be asking for help in a situation and sometimes it will be to help someone else. What ever it is we need, we must bring to God.

We put on the armour of God, (Ephesians 6:10-17) to protect us from our natural desires and the pitfalls satan puts in our way, but it goes on to say, ‘pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers.’

Jesus demonstrated this every day. He is interceding for us right now to the Father as he hears our prayers.

Pray in thought word and deed, from the moment you wake up until you go to sleep. Talk to him and put him in every part of your day. But remember he will not 'smite' someone for you, so its better to ask for help with a person you are struggling with.

Talk to him and when you don't know what to say remember Romans 8:26-27 says;

‘In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.’

Verses 28-30 says we are predestined to call on Him. He chose us before we were born to work His purpose out, so talk to him and wait patiently for his reply.

This is how I understand my God.
