THE LOVE OF OUR GOD IS AWESOME

His love is shown in compassion for those around him. In his willingness to do what is needed to help others, and in giving the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, (failings).

It is in his eyes that see our needs. His ears that hear our cries, and his heart that is always open.

It is in his quiet strength. His controlled power, and his steadfast care for mankind.

It is in his forgiveness for so many times we let him down. His comfort when we mourn, and his Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth.

His love is all encompassing, all sufficient, and eternal.

His hand is reaching out to us even in the deepest, darkest pits we dig for ourselves.

In our weakness, he is ready and waiting to save us. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

We must hold on to him and submit in ‘rest,’ (peace and calm), – not like the submission mankind metes out or demands – but in rest.

What a fabulous God we have.

As the song says,

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
O what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchased of God
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood

Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Saviour am happy and blessed
Watching and waiting, looking above
