THE MARK - ON OR IN

My mind was taken again to the mark of the beast this week after discussing it with my family. I can’t remember how we got onto the subject, but I was saying that I’d read recently that in Sweden, thousands of people were having a microchip inserted under their skin, *‘Around the size of a grain of rice, the chips typically are inserted into the skin just above the user’s thumb, using a device similar to a syringe used in vaccinations.’  The report also says ‘the chips are designed to speed up user’s daily routines and make their lives more convenient – accessing their homes, offices and gyms is as easy as swiping their hands against digital readers. They also can be used to store emergency contact details, social media profiles or e-tickets and rail journeys within Sweden.

Another report says that **’In a video shared by Epicenter, Hannes Sjoblad, chief distribution officer, has the chip in his arm and simply waves a smartphone over it to pull up his vaccination status. ‘Implants are very versatile technology that can be used for many different things and right now it is very convenient to have COVID passport always accessible on you implant, he said’

I also looked up whether the scriptures said the mark of the beast was to be put on or in the hand or forehead, as my current bible says on, but I thought I remembered it saying in and wondered how they could do that, and also, how could it be seen if it was inside your body. I didn’t even think about tattoos at that point but considered that a possibility recently as my current bible say on and so many people choose to have a tattoo these days. Anyway, when I looked it up in the King James Bible, which was my first bible, it does read ‘in.’ So, I looked up the Greek word these originate from, and according to Mounce reverse interlinear bible, it comes from the word Epi, which can mean amongst other things; on, in, upon or nearby, so it could be either. In either case, I think the latest microchip developments need looking into carefully, as many people will simply follow the crowd when it comes to technology - and if ever they say you have the chip or you can’t shop or buy food, that’s the time to definitely say no!!!

Revelations 13:16-17 says, ‘It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on/in their right hands or on/in their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the mark of the beast or the number of its name.’

Revelation 14:9-10 says, ‘…if anyone worships the beast and his image and receives a mark on/in his forehead or his ***hand, he will also drink the wine of God’s wrath.’

We may make mistakes sometimes, and I hope I’m wrong, but I feel that God’s people must be alert and pray for guidance on these matters so that we are not deceived into doing something we regret for ever!
