HE HAS A PLAN FOR YOU

A FUTURE FOR YOU

HE HAS A PLAN FOR YOU

I have been praying for someone for some time now with apparently no change in their life. Yet I know God loves that person and is working for them.

Over the weekend, the person was heavy on my heart, and I woke up on Sunday asking God "What can I do or say to help?" I prayed about it all morning. Then, when I got to church, the reading had been changed to read Jeremiah, 29:1-14. As I read it, I knew it was for the person I'd been thinking of. I was so overwhelmed by it that I struggled to read it without crying.

The passage is about God's promise to the Jews that he would take them out of captivity in Babylon and back to their homeland. Yet I knew this passage was meant for us too. We are effectively held in captivity by our unbelief, it keeps us in places of darkness, like depression and hopelessness. It keeps us from the goodness of God and the blessings he has for us, yet even though we did not know Him, we have been adopted into His family through Jesus, so this promise is given to us too.

The passage reads;

"I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans for your welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on me and I will hear you. You will seek me with all your heart and I will be found by you," says the Lord, "and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the places I have driven you," says the Lord, "and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you."

As I see it, this is what the promises mean.

I see you,

I care for your welfare,

I have a future planned for you,

I have a hope for you.

So, when you get what you have been hoping for in your heart, (hoping in your heart is praying, though many do not realise it), don't dismiss it as coincidence. It is a blessing from your Heavenly Father who loves you, he gives it freely with love, accept it and thank Him for it.

Don’t forget to thank him.

This is how I see my God.

Read for yourself, get to know Him yourself, see what you think.
