WHAT ARE YOU WORTH TO GOD?

I was listening to someone this morning talking about how much we are worth to God. He was reminding us that we are worth His Son. The Father gave up his Son to shame, humiliation, persecution, spitting, hatred, death, Resurrection and glory, just to bring us back to himself. (Romans 8:32)

No-one asked God to do it, He chose to do it for our sakes – that is how much he cares for us.

Now I find myself thinking, “Why? Why are we worth so much, and how can he still love us after we rejected him and went our own way, (making a complete mess of it, I might add). I just don’t get it! I’m grateful for it, but I don’t get it. We are so far from his ideal, and so weak minded, it just makes me grateful that in the end, He is in charge and not us!

I looked up Romans 8 and it is a lovely chapter of hope..

Verses 18-25 talk about how the whole of nature, (including us), groan inwardly in the present sufferings that we are under, but the difference for those who believe is that we have hope for the redemption of our bodies and a glorious future with Jesus. We are not on our own through this! Verse 26 reminds us that we have the Holy spirit with us to help us through our weaknesses, even when we don’t know what to pray for. This is the love that our Heavenly Father has for us. He searches our hearts, (verse 27), and if our minds are not in the right place, with our consent and our faith, He will change us into better people.

When you look at what Jesus did for us and how hard our God works on our behalf, you see your true value in Him.

So, what are you worth? To God, everything! Jesus gave up everything he had in heaven for you!

Doesn’t that deserve our attention and your thanks? I think so!

A great song I have been listening to this morning is 'Holy Water' by We the kingdom and Tasha Cobbs-Leanard. It reminds me that we have his forgiveness and that we are not alone in this situation. Even though we may not be able to meet together, we can worship together as one flock, whole and complete in Jesus.
