WE ARE PART OF HIM

God is gracious. He has blessings lined up for those who believe, but a relationship is a two way thing.

The passage I was reading is Romans 11:11-21 today is all about the branches of God’s tree. The tree grew in Israel, God watered it and nurtured it, but the branches rejected it, so the Father discarded the old branches and grafted on new ones. We all become a part of him through the roots.

Jesus is the root that brings life and goodness to the tree, (Israel), but some of the branches, (Jews), rejected his goodness, so God discarded those branches and gave his goodness to the new branches, (gentiles), which he grafted onto the tree, even though they were from a wild olive tree.

But there is a warning. It is this. Do not get complacent and think too much of yourself, because, if the owner discarded the original branches, he could also reject you.

Our part of the relationship is to be diligent in searching for Him. Do not forget Him when life is good, nor reject Him when life gets hard. Keep your eyes and hearts on Jesus. Run the race to the end. Behave in a way that glorifies God - that is, be honest, kind, and willing to help others. Put on the whole armour of God, stand firm in our faith, be ready to speak the gospel, and to pray on all occasions. (Colossians 3:1-17, Hebrews 12:1-3 & Ephesians 6:10-20).

DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR GRANTED!

God is stern enough to remove from his kingdom those who reject Him, but, loving enough to re-graft on any who turn back to him.

This is how I understand my God.

Read for yourself, see what you think.
