After I wrote Prayer warriors, I heard a sermon at our church on learning how to pray.
Our vicar said the way was given to us by Jesus when he taught the disciples what we now call ‘the Lord’s prayer’ and we can remember it easier if we think of ‘ACTS’.
A – Acknowledge God by praising his name and his will.
C – Confess your sins. Let him know you are aware you are a sinner and need forgiveness.
T – Thanksgiving. Thank him for everything he has done for mankind and for you, I usually add “especially those things which I don’t even notice,” as I am sure he does lots for me that I don’t see.
S – Supplication. Tell him what it is you want/need
I think this is a fab way of remembering how to order our prayers and I will certainly use it.
