DO WE REALLY NEED OTHERS?

Well, Yes.

We were designed for fellowship with God and with one another. God noticed that Adam needed another person in his life and provided Eve. (Genesis 2:19-end)

Some people need others in their life every day, some occasionally.

Those who feel that they need no-one usually, but not always, have difficulties with socialising. There are some who become hermits or live on the outskirts of civilisation quite happily, especially when they have faith. Yet even they sometimes need help and have to come into contact with others.

Fellowship does not mean spending every moment with other people, but as Christians we benefit from meeting with other Christians.

We also need to make time for Fellowship just with our Heavenly Father. He loves us and wants to spend time with us too.

This is what church should be for. For time to spend joining in worship with other believers. Where you can talk about your faith, listen to how God is working in the lives of others and being a friend to those in need - as we all are at some point in our lives.

Fellowship is so important to us that Jesus came to build a church, (Matthew 16:8), described as His bride, (Rev. 19:7, 21:2, 21:9, 21:17), so that believers would have a network of people to lean on and to encourage through difficult times.

The definition of fellowship in the Greek (according to Mounce Reverse interlinear new testamnt) is; fellowship, partnership, Acts 2:42; 2 Cor. 6:14; 13:13; Gal. 2:9; Phil. 3:10; 1 Jn. 1:3; participation, communion,1 Cor. 10:16; aid, relief, Heb. 13:16; contribution in aid, Rom. 15:26.

Our fellowship with one another also witnesses to non believers. They see how we behave towards each other and if we are doing it right, they want what we have. At the very least, they are curious about why we behave the way we do.

This is how I understand my God.
