LOOK TO JESUS
He is our health and our future. He is the way, the truth and the light.
Jesus said, ‘Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.’ (John 14:12-14)
Plus, when he healed the ten lepers on his way to Jerusalem, and the Samaritan who was healed came back to give thanks, he said to him, ‘Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.’ (Luke 17:19)
Isaiah 53:4-6 says;
“Surely, he took our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgression, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
We like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
Verse 12 says, “Yet he bore the sins of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” – That’s us! Me and you!
Sometimes we will have troubles and we may suffer, but we have someone who can keep us safe, spiritually and bodily. Paul says in Phillipians 1:27-29.
‘Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ…… Stand firm in the one Spirit, striving as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. ‘
He was talking about being in chains for preaching the Gospel, but I think it applies in all situations.
We will all have troubles, but we will also have peace. The peace that comes from our faith in that Jesus not only paid the price for our sins, but he also bought us a glorious future, and it’s that future we need to keep in our sights through difficulties. And in the meantime, he may use us to help others.
So, pray often.
Ask for protection, healing and hope. And in all things, give thanks to the Father for his love.
When you don’t know what to say or ask, sing praises! And the love of Christ will fill your heart and bring you peace.
This is how I understand my God.
